Mental Capacity Act and/or DoLS training
The team at St Thomas training provides a wide range of Mental Capacity Act and/or Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards training courses.
We start from the belief that the MCA is there to enable people to make decisions about their own lives if they can - even if their decision might be unwise. The training ranges from basic awareness sessions (aimed at beginners) to much more advanced sessions (aimed at experienced professionals who are already very familiar with the legislation).
The training is constantly updated to reflect new approaches and new cases that have been heard in the Court of Protection (or higher courts).
Our current (2017) contracts for MCA/DoLS training include Norfolk County Council, Southampton City Council, Portsmouth City Council, Isle of Wight Council, Halton Borough Council, Oxfordshire County Council, London Borough of Hounslow, London Borough of Sutton, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, Sutton CCG, ECL, Perthyn, Octavia Group and Metropolitan Housing, as well as numerous ad hoc sessions for statutory, private, voluntary and independent organisations.
